Amsler App — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: November 16, 2025
Entity: First Eye Applications (“First Eye Applications,” “we,” “us,” “our”)
Contact: firsteyeapplications@gmail.com
1) Overview
The Amsler App helps users monitor for potential changes in central vision and locate eye-care resources. We designed the app to avoid collecting personal data directly. However, the app displays third-party advertisements (Google AdMob) that may collect device and usage information for ad delivery and measurement. This Privacy Policy explains what is (and is not) collected, how third parties may use data, your choices, and your rights.
The Amsler App does not create user accounts, does not require you to submit health information, and does not store medical data on our servers.
2) Scope
This Policy applies to the Amsler App and in-app content and links. It does not apply to independent third-party websites, services, or apps you visit through links (including doctor websites or app store listings).
3) Information We Collect
- Direct collection: We do not directly collect personal information through the Amsler App.
- Support emails: If you email us, we receive the information you choose to provide (e.g., email address, message content). We use it only to respond and maintain records consistent with this Policy.
4) Information Collected by Third Parties
The Amsler App uses Google AdMob to serve banner ads. AdMob (and its partners) may collect and process:
- Device identifiers (e.g., IDFA/Advertising ID), app version, OS version, screen size, language, IP address, approximate location (derived from IP), and general app interaction data needed to deliver and measure ads.
- Ad delivery and measurement data (e.g., impressions, clicks, frequency, crash/diagnostic data related to ad SDKs).
Third-party use is governed by their policies (not ours). See Google’s resources:

We do not receive device-level ad identifiers or ad interaction data from AdMob in a way that lets us identify you.
5) No Collection of Sensitive Health Data
We do not collect, store, or infer health information or other sensitive categories. The in-app Amsler features are informational self-checks; results are not uploaded to us.
6) Your Choices & Controls
- Ad personalization — iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising (or per-app privacy settings). Android: Settings → Google → Ads. Google ad preferences: link.
- Notifications (if enabled in future builds): use OS settings.
- Email: You may choose not to email us. You can request deletion of our email correspondence (see Section 12).
7) Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
Where applicable, third-party ad networks process data for legitimate interests (ad delivery, security, fraud prevention) and/or consent (personalized ads). The app itself does not process personal data requiring consent beyond what third-party ad networks may present or require under their frameworks.
8) Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell or share your personal information in the sense of transferring identifiable data for money. We do not disclose your information to third parties, except:
- Service providers/SDKs: Ad networks (e.g., AdMob) act as independent controllers or processors for ad delivery and measurement.
- Legal: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
9) Data Retention
- In-app: We do not retain personal data from app use.
- Support emails: Retained as long as necessary to respond and maintain records (e.g., up to 24 months), unless you request earlier deletion (subject to legal holds).
10) Security
We implement reasonable administrative and technical measures for the limited data we handle (e.g., support emails). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11) Children’s Privacy
The Amsler App is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12) Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, or port personal data.
- How to exercise: Email firsteyeapplications@gmail.com. If your request concerns ad-tech data, we may guide you to platform controls or Google’s tools.
- Identity verification: We may request information to verify your identity and scope a response.
California (CPRA), Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, etc.: You may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt-out of targeted advertising/cross-context behavioral advertising. Use OS/Google settings and contact us for assistance.
EEA/UK: You have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
13) International Transfers
Ad networks may store or process data on servers outside your country (e.g., U.S.). They implement their own transfer safeguards.
14) Do Not Track
The app does not respond to DNT signals. Third-party ad partners may handle DNT differently; consult their policies.
15) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The “Effective Date” will be revised. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or via updated release notes.
